Why Ketpy Book exists.
Ketpy Book started as an internal tool. The Ketpy team ran several small businesses — a printing press, a coaching institute, a SaaS subsidiary — and we kept hitting the same walls with existing accounting software.
Legacy desktop accounting tools were great if we accepted Windows-only installation, per-machine licenses, and a CA on retainer to maintain everything. Other cloud accounting suites were nicer on the eyes, but per-user pricing meant our 4-person team was looking at ₹15K+/year before we'd issued a single invoice. Free mobile-first accounting apps were reasonably priced but ad-supported on the free tier, and their cloud sync felt like an afterthought.
So in late 2025 we sat down to build the alternative — cloud-first, India-first, with a single transparent annual price and every accounting module a growing SMB needs. Ten weeks later, Ketpy Book Lite shipped. Pro followed in early 2026 with the GST compliance suite, e-Invoice integration, and double-entry ledger.
Today we're 2,400+ active SMBs across India, processed ₹180Cr+ in invoices in the last 12 months, and we still pick up support tickets ourselves at 9pm. Made by a small team in Gurugram + Pune. Engineered by Ketpy.com.
